’95 Bluewater Sharks Capture Spring Showcase Championship in Port Huron The ‘95 Bluewater Sharks (Team 1) travelled across the bridge to Port Huron and won the Glacier Pointe Spring Showcase hockey tournament in a convincing manner. The Championship game the Sharks took on the Bluewater Stars from Port Huron, winning 6 – 0. Scoring for the Sharks were Corey Pawley with two, Jeff Sit, Ryan Cusin, Ryan Trottier and Austin Rothe. Assists went to Mike Diaz and Mitch DeRush-Pageau with two each, Kirk Dorman and Connor McKinnon. Joel Sowinski earned the shut-out. During round robin play, the Sharks took on the GP Stars, and thumped them 14 – 1. Scoring was Jay Helstowksi, Pawley, McKinnon and Rothe with two each. Single markers went to Dorman, Mathew Brandon, Luke Charlton and Adam Lane. Assists went to Diaz with three, Vinnie Debrowa, Dorman and Cusin with two, Helstowski, Pawley, McKinnon, DeRush-Pageau, Trottier, Sit and Lane. Game two of pitted the Bluewater Sharks versus the Bluewater Stars. The sharks were victorious 6 -1. Scoring for the Sharks were DeRush-Pageau and Dorman with two each, Cusin and Trottier with singles. Assists went to Diaz, Brandon and Pawley with two, Cusin and Trottier with one each. Rounding out round robin play saw the Sharks take on Monroe Michigan. The Sharks dominated Monroe 13 – 1. Scoring for the Sharks were Pawley with three, Helstowksi, Dorman and Cusin with two, Brandon, DeRush-Pageau, Trottier and Adam Lane with singles. Assists went to DeRush-Pageau with three, Lane with two, Helstowski, Dorman, Diaz, Brandon, Cusin, and Trottier. Brad Jacklin got the win between the pipes. Next action for the ’95 Sharks is in Toronto, at the Lakeshore Thunder International tournament, May 23 – 25. The Sharks are defending Champions and will be looking to repeat.
