Dec 28th
Lambton
0 VS York Simcoe Express 2
The
early morning start did not hamper the
strong play of the Sting. With back and
forth pressure by both teams this game
was one of the most hard fought games of the
tournament. It wasn't till the 3rd period
when the Express broke the scoreless tie.
But the Sting didn't stop the hard work.
With so many opportunities to tie the game,
the Sting just could not find the back of
the net. Before the end of the 3rd the
Express would add their second goal for the
2-0 win. Brendon Johnston back- stopped a
strong game.
Lambton
3 VS Ajax Pickering Raiders
2
Continuing the strong play the Sting would
strike first with Tyler Drury's goal at 2:19
of the 1st. Assisting on the play was Tim
Kaldeway. The Raiders with two quick goals
in the 2nd put the Sting down by one. Before
the end of the 2nd Cory Burr would prove to
be a burr under the Raiders saddle with a
heads up play. Burr would pinch in deep from
the defense and buried the pass from Sam
McCormack and Zach Van Eyk to even the
score. With only 1:20 left in the 3rd Adam
Craievich deflected a Cory Burr point shot
over the Raider goalie. Cole Lauzon with
another big game in net.
SKILLS
COMPETITION
That
evening 7 players of the Lambton Sting
participated in the skills competition.
Dillon Saunders, Zach Van Eyk, Adriano Fuoco
and Cory Lucier skated the 4 man relay. With
one of the quickest times out of the 22
teams they were just beat out to advance to
the finals. Callahan Doughty and Sam
McCormack participated in the 6 shot shoot-
out. Starting for the Sting was Doughty and
before the Goalie could say howdy doughty,
Callahan gripped-it and ripped-it over a
stunned goalie. McCormack took his turn
freezing the goalie with his moves. The pair
went 5 out of 6. Goalie Cole Lauzon
represented the Sting during the competition
and made some big saves. Great
showing at the skills competition team.
Dec 29th

work of Marco DiFederico and Cory Lucier.

the 3rd the Sting would take the lead for
the final time of the game. A great passing
play was finished off by Dillon Saunders
assisted by Adam Craievish and Zach Van Eyk.
For the balance of the game the Sting held
off the Battalion to capture the win.
Brendon Johnston played great to help cap
off the win.
Lambton
0 VS Cambridge Hawks 1
The
score said it all. It was a goaltenders
duel. The game was full of great saves,
strong defensive plays and missed
opportunities. Goalie Cole Lauzon made the
big saves to keep the Sting in the game but
all the pressure mounted by the Sting was to
no avail.
