The Lambton
Jr Sting AAA bantam team had a two points to
zero lead in Alliance Playoff action heading
into the weekend. In
game two, at the SSEC, Lambton defeated
Chatham 4-1. Ben Sokol led the way with a
three point game, two goals and one assist.
Other goal scorers were Jesse Ferguson from
Tyler Annett and Jordan Drury, and Thomas
Flamminio from Annett and Sokol. Sean
Parker picked up the win. In game three, at
home once again, Lambton had a chance
to clinch the series sweep over Chatham.
Chatham decided to come out and play and
prevent the sweep by defeating Lambton 3-0.
Colton James was great in goal. But, no
pucks in their net. In game four, Lambton
pulled out all the stops and rallied in the
third period to defeat Chatham by a 2-1
score, right in Chatham, to clinch the
series, six points to two points. Trailing
1-0 going into the third, Tyler Annett
scored a shorthanded marker to tie the game
at 1-1 at the 14:27 mark, unassisted. Then
with the Jr Sting on the powerplay, Brett
Thompson fired the game winner with 5:27
left, from Curtis Crombeen and Daniel
Charlton. Sean Parker was stellar in goal
and picked up the win.
The team now
advances to the second round of the Alliance
Playoffs, they will now face Windsor. Game
one is on Saturday at the SSEC, game time is
3:00 p.m.
