Lambton 7- Chatham 0

 Thursday, Dec. 20th

The Lambton Midget Sting looked to kick off a stretch of holiday hockey with a strong showing against West Division Rival Chatham Kent Cyclones on Thursday night at the SSEC.

Lambton started the night 4 points back of idle Windsor for second place in the West and were in need of the win.  With a quick start and 4 first period goals the Sting made it known that they were going to get the job done.  Darby MacKinnon started off the scoring in the period and Eric Belanger ended it with two goals scored in the period by Zack MacQueen.

The production was cut in half in each of the next two periods with two goals in the second and one in the third.  Jesse Drydak and Rory Keane scored in the second frame while Travis Mullen closed out the scoring.  Final Score was Lambton 7- Chatham 0.  Assists on the game went to Rory Keane, Andrew Sokol, Travis Mullen(2), Jesse Drydak, Joey Burt, Colten Jamieson (3), Darby MacKinnon and Eric Belanger.  Matt Stirling made some key saves in net early to earn the shutout.

Lambton 4- Brantford 3
 Sunday, Dec. 22nd

The Midget Sting were once again forced into action with far less than a full roster travelling to Brantford with just 11 skaters.  After losing a player to a check from behind, the Sting rallied late in the game for the win.  Zack MacQueen led the way once again for the Sting scoring twice while Jesse Drydak and Darby MacKinnon eached notched singles.  The Sting battled back from a 3-1 deficit at the start of the third period to take a 4-3 win and head home tied with Windsor for second in the West Division.

The Sting now take a break from league play heading to the Toronto Titans tournament on Boxing Day where they will face some elite teams from the GTHL and OMHA.  The next league action for the Sting is Dec. 30th against Windsor with home ice advantage for the playoffs on the line.
