Lambton 6- Chatham 0

Lambton Jr. Sting Midgets went into Walpole Island to play the Chatham-Kent Cyclones on Saturday and came out with 2 well deserved points.

The Sting were hungry for the win and started the scoring early with Zack MacQueen scoring just 53 seconds into the game.  An end to end first period finished with a score of 1-0 for the visitors.

In the second period Lambton showed there depth as shutdown wingers Eric Belanger and Colton Jamieson, who are known for there defensive play, scored goals in the period and Jesse Drydak added one of his own to make the score 4-0 through two periods.  Jamieson's goal was his first for the Sting this season and Belanger's second.

Lambton was not ready to sit on their lead and came out flying in the third period.  Just a minute into the period Drydak fed a cross rink feed to Jamieson who sent a bullet one-timer past the scrambling Chatham goaltender.  Darby MacKinnon added the final tally 45 seconds later and the Sting cruised to a 6-0 victory.

Jordan Gladwish made 26 saves for the first AAA shutout of his career and played outstanding between the pipes making key saves early in the game to keep Lambton in the lead.

Lambton looks to carry this momentum into next weekend when they play a home and home with West Division leading London.  Games are Saturday at 12.45 at the SSEC and 7.30 on Sunday at Medway Arena in London.

Lambton missed the services of Captain Jordan Hurst who missed his last game with a seperated shoulder.  Also out of action were Ryan Hunt and Rory Keane who were hurt during the highschool hockey tournament earlier in the week.  All three are expected back to the lineup soon.
