Lambton AAA Minor Atom – 1 for the Road

The Jr Sting Minor Atoms played two road games on the weekend with the first being a visit to Kitchener to battle the Jr Rangers. Despite a fairly close game in terms of puck possession the Jr Sting found themselves on the short end of a 6-1 tally. Picking up the lone goal as well as the Sting hardhat for his efforts was Alec Dekoning.

On Sunday the Minor Atoms traveled to Windsor to battle the Sun County Panthers and managed to pull out a 3-3 tie to pick up a weekend point. The Jr Sting opened the scoring in the contest late in the first period on a goal by Brock Perry, assisted by Vaughan DeGurse. The Panthers stormed back with two of their own in the second period before a late goal by Isaac McLean would knot things up at two heading into the third. Again the Panthers took the early lead and held on till the late seconds of the final period when Jake Burnard fired one to the back of the net. Assisting on the final goal was Logan Scott, earning the Sting Hardhat was McLean and coming up big between the pipes was goaltender Jake Wilkins.
