Lambton AAA Jr Sting Minor Atoms – No ‘Stingin’ the Chiefs

The Minor Atoms hosted the Elgin Middlesex Chiefs at the SSEC and battled to a disappointing 4-3 loss. After falling behind 2-0 at the end of the first period the Jr Sting came out buzzing in the second period with two late goals were able to knot things up at 2-2 with one period to play. Five minutes into the third period the Sting went ahead for the first time in the game and looked to be in control, but a tying goal midway through the period and late turnover allowed the Chiefs to pick up the road victory.

Scoring for the Jr Sting were Jake Burnard, Brock Perry and Alec Dekoning, all with singles and assists were picked up by Isaac McLean, Logan Scott, Burnard, Colin Leyton and Patrick Wright.  Earning the Sting Hardhat for his stellar defensive efforts and thundering body checks was Brett Barnes.

The rematch for the following day in Strathroy was cancelled due to the weather and will be replayed at a later date.
