Lambton vs Huron Perth

The Jr Sting Minor Atoms hosted the Huron Perth
Lakers and participated in the Huron Perth
power-play practice session. Giving up 3
short-handed goals the team fell to the visiting
Lakers by a score of 5-2. Despite the hard work of
the boys they could not overcome penalty troubles
and the visitors were very appreciative of their
treatment at the SSEC. Tallying for the Lambton
squad were Brock Perry and Alec Dekoning, with
assists going to Morgan Halcovitch, Patrick Wright
and Dekoning. Sting Hardhat of the game went to a
very deserving Brett Barnes for his aggressive
defensive play.
Lambton vs London Knights
January 6, 2008
The following day the
minor atoms hosted league leading London Knights at
the SSEC and played a very strong game until the
late stages of the third period. This late meltdown
led to a 6-3 defeat in a game that looked like it
could have gone either way after the Jr Sting scored
to tie things up at 2 with just over six minutes
remaining in the third period. Scoring for the game
was provided by Vaughan DeGurse, Brock Perry and
Alec Dekoning, all with singles. Helpers were earned
by DeGurse, Colin Leyton and Logan Scott. The Sting
Hardhat was awarded to Patrick Wright for his strong
forechecking and hard work throughout the contest.
