Game 1

After a
scoreless first period, the Lambton Jr.
Sting came out strong on the power play
as Nathan Mater buried the first goal.
Ryan Rupert and Clint Rose had the
assists. Hunter Johnson made some
awesome saves, but London was able to
score twice on the power play to take
the lead before the second period
ended. Too many penalties prevailed and
Lambton playing shorthanded were unable
to put the puck in the net. The Jr.
Sting gave up an empty net goal late in
the third to end the game 3 - 1.
Game 2 Lambton 2 - London 1
Sunday
night the Jr. Sting faced a
determined London team, but team
work and strong goal tending paid
off and gave London their first loss
of the playoffs. Andrew Ganter made
some great saves as London continued
to pound the net through three
periods of end to end action. Ryan
Rupert scored in the first period
with Tanner Thompson and Tim
Tannahill getting the
assists. Lambton held on to
their one goal lead through the
second period, but London came back
with a power play goal early in the
third to tie the game. Lambton
fought back when Tyler McGregor
scored on the power play supported
by assists from Ryan and Matt
Rupert. This gave the team the lead
they needed to finish the game in
victory.
The Sting are back on home
ice Monday night at 7:00 pm for the
third game of the series.
