Quarter Finals vs.
Windsor Jr. Spitfires
Game 1 -
Lambton 4 - Windsor 2
The Lambton
Jr. Sting began their post season play
with a series against Windsor Jr.
Spitfires. Travelling to Windsor Friday
night Lambton takes the first win.
Windsor was first on the score board,
but Lambton didn't take long to tie the
game. Scoring for Lambton was Josh
Moore assisted by Tyler McGregor. With
end to end action continuing into the
second period, Lambton was able to pop
in another to take the lead. Scoring
his second goal was Josh Moore, assisted
by Tim Tannahill. Tyler McGregor scored
on the power play in the third while
Matt Rupert had the assist. Windsor
came back and scored late in the period
before Ryan Rupert scored on an empty
net to end the game 4 - 2 giving Hunter
Johnson the win.
Game 2 -
Lambton 9 - Windsor 3
Lambton was
host to Windsor Sunday for game 2 of the
series. Lambton dominated the play
throughout the game to get the second
win of the series. Scoring in the first
period for Lambton was Nathan Mater,
Tyler McGregor and Daniel Bowling with
assists going to Ryan Rupert, Matt
Rupert, Josh Moore and Tyler McGregor.
Windsor was able to score before the
period ended to bring the score to 3-1.
Lambton had another three unanswered
goals in the second to end the period at
6-1. Scoring for Lambton was Josh
Moore, Matt Rupert and Nathan Mater.
Assisting these goals were, Daniel
Bowling, Michael Gray, Dylan Cooper and
Ryan Rupert. Lambton still dominating
the play scored three more in the
third. Scoring for Lambton was Tyler
McGregor, Thomas McDonnell and Dylan
Cooper. Assists went to Tim Tannahill,
Tyler Prong, Matt Rupert and Nathan
Mater. Windsor showed a little life
before the period ended to pop in a
couple goals, but Andrew Ganter was able
to hold them at a total of three to
get the win with a final score of 9-3.
Game 3 -
Windsor 3 - Lambton 1
Windsor was
back in Sarnia Friday night for the
third game of the series. The game was
scoreless till late in the second
period, scoring for Lambton was Tyler
McGregor with Ryan Rupert assisting.
Windsor came back with three unanswered
goals in the third period to win the
game 3 - 1 forcing a fourth game of the
series.
Game 4 -
Windsor 5 - Lambton 4
Lambton
travelled back to Windsor Saturday and
found themselves facing the same hot
goalie from the night before. They were
able to put a few more between the pipes
this game, but came up short when the
game went to overtime falling 5-4 to
Windsor. Scoring for Lambton was Ryan
Rupert, Tyler McGregor, and Josh Moore
(2), assisting were Matt Rupert, Clint
Rose, Dylan Cooper, Tyler McGregor, and
Ryan Rupert (2).
Game 5 -
Lambton 6 - Windsor 5
With both
teams facing elimination from Alliance
Playdowns, each came out hungry for the
win. Windsor was first on the score
board, but Tyler McGregor scored
unassisted to tie the game before the
end of the first period. With end to
end action throughout the game, Lambton
was able to take the lead with an
unassisted goal from Ryan Rupert.
Windsor came back to score before Josh
Moore answered that with another
unassisted goal for Lambton. Windsor
scored another to end the second
period tied at 3. The third period
proved to be a nail biter with both
teams determined to take home the win.
Lambton took the lead first with a goal
from Tyler McGregor assisted by Matt
Rupert. Windsor was able to match that
goal, and when Lambton scored what
seemed to be the game winner, Windsor
fought back to tie the game and take it
to overtime. Scoring that goal was Ryan
Rupert with Matt Rupert assisting.
Hunter Johnson made some awesome saves
throughout the game to keep his team
from elimination. Scoring unassisted at
the 6:48 minute mark in the overtime
period was Nathan Mater to take the team
to victory. Semi-final play will
continue for Lambton against the
Kitchener Jr. Rangers.
