Game 1 - Jr. Sting Beat Canton Crush 4 - 0

Darren Foubister got the shut out and Brent Sauve led the offsense with 2 goals and 1 assist in a 4 - 0 victory over the Canton Crush in game 1 of the Golden Blade Tournament Friday night.

Kalvin Thornton got 2 assists. Duncan MacSorley & Cody McPhail scored 1 each while Steve Farlow, Duncan Innes and Ben Arseneault picked up single assists.

Jr. Knights & Jr. Sting Tie Game 2
Blake Thomas scored the lone goal Saturday afternoon at the SSEC when Lambton and London battled to a 1 - 1 tie.  Duncan MacSorley assisted.  Defense and goal tending has been strong in the past 2 games with only 1 goal against.  Reid Rankin was sharp between the pipes in this one.

The tie places the Jr. Sting in first place with a 1 goal advantage over 2nd place London.

Jr. Sting & Toronto Tie Game 3
Derek Nap & AJ Baughman scored in a 2 - 2 tie with the Toronto Titans Saturday night at Clearwater Arena. Cody McPhail got the lone assist.  Baughman's goal was his first with the Jr. Sting.  He was very noticeable in the game on offense and defence; especially blocking shots when Toronto pressured in the third period.

Another stand-out was Kalvin Thornton.  Thornton was spectacular killing off a penalty single handedly in the third period.

The Jr. Sting finish round robin play in 2nd place.

Canton Crush Jr. Sting

The Jr. Sting may have taken their opponents for granted going into Sunday's Golden Blade semi final against the Canton Crush. They had their way with Canton by a score of 4 - 0 in round robin play.

The Jr. Sting didn't know what hit them when Canton scored 6 power play goals en route to a 7 - 1 thumping. Brent Sauve scored the lone Jr. Sting unassisted.

In other Golden Blade action; last seed Toronto Titans defeated top seed London Jr. Knights, then went on to defeat 3rd seed Canton 4 - 0 in the Championship game.

The Jr. Sting go back to the drawing board this week in preparation for their second regular season game against the London Jr. Knights Saturday at the SSEC. Puck drops 3:00pm.
