Spitfires Bomb Jr. Sting
Every team can look back to determine the worst game they played during the season. The Jr. Sting played theirs Wednesday night in Windsor. They got into penalty trouble from the opening face-off. The Jr. Spits had 2 power play goals 2 minutes into the game. The Jr. Sting never recovered and Windsor never looked back as they went on to bomb the visitors 9 - 0 in game 1 of the preliminary round of the playdowns. Four of Windsor's first five goals came on the power play.
The Jr. Sting were a disorganized group in this one. There wasn't a pass that clicked until late in the third period. They may have been thinking about exam week and studies rather than a road game on a school night. If that's the case, Windsor will have the same disadvantage when both teams go at it again Thursday night in Sarnia. Puck drops 7:30pm at the SSEC.
