Thomas Scores a Hat Trick against Windsor
The Jr. Sting haven't beat the Jr. Spitfires this season, but jumped out to a 3 - 0 lead 6 minutes into the first period Sunday in Windsor. The Spitfires won the second period by a score of 2 - 1. The Jr. Sting regained the 3 goal lead early in the third when Blake Thomas capped off a remarkable performance with his 3rd goal of the game. Then the unthinkable happened. Windsor stormed back with 5 unanswered goals. They scored the game winner with 51 seconds on the clock and put the game way with an empty netter for a 7 - 5 final.
Four other Jr. Sting players had multiple points in this one. AJ Baughman and Brent Sauve had 1 goal and 1 assist each. Jordan Belanger and Kalvin Thonrton netted 2 assists each. Ben Arseneault and Derek Nap scored single assists.
The game ends the Jr. Sting's 4 game unbeaten streak and has them looking over their shoulders at Chatham who gained ground after a 2 - 2 tie with Huron Perth and a 3 - 2 victory over London this weekend.
