Highlanders Eliminate Jr.
Sting
A victory over the Grey
Bruce Highlanders would
advance the Jr. Sting to
Sunday's semi final at the
Waterloo Gold Puck
Tournament. It appeared they
might pull it off in the
early going, but the wheels
fell off for the short
benched Jr. Sting in the
third period. It was 3 - 2
for the Highlanders going
into the third. Grey Bruce
put the game away with two
goals; one of which was an
empty netter.
Kalvin Thornton and
Duncan MacSorley scored one
each with assists coming
from Blake Thomas, Derek
Nap, Brent Sauve and AJ
Baughman. Darren Foubister
did his part, especially
late in the game with
several spectacular saves.
Next action for the Jr.
Sting is Friday night in St.
Thomas against the Elgin
Middlesex Chiefs. Puck drops
8:00pm.
