Lambton Jr. Sting started the first game of the consolations finals against the Windsor Spitfires with a 3-3 tie. Lambton opened the scoring with Joey Stock pounding in the first goal early in the second period.

Windsor then tied it up mid way through the second with a ‘D’ to ‘D’ pass that was picked off.

Lambton got a little behind with two more un-answered goals as Windsor goes up 3-1 in the early third period. Connor Black then hustled to the net short handed and jammed the puck in as the Windsor goal keeper misunderstood the no icing call. Kraig Durco then fired in the last goal in the third to bring the game to a tie. The overtime was quite exciting but uneventful for each team did not score.

Lambton then traveled again to Windsor for game 3 as no referees arrived in Sarnia for game 2 for Lambton’s home advantage.

Game 3 started with Lambton again opening the scoring in Windsor’s barn to take the lead early in the second period.  Mitchell Wilson scored off a Hunter Tyczynski slide pass through the blue ice. Lambton is showing that attacking the net for tips is the way to go. Windsor then answered with their first goal off a Windsor player skate past Cornel Felder, to close the second period at one apiece. Kolton Knott kept the puck in the zone by rimming the puck to Mitch Wilson. Wilson then finds Tyczynski and back for Wilson to slip the puck behind goal keeper. Lambton ends the game and takes a much deserved 2 points.

Lambton plays next Sunday March 2nd at the SSEC at 11:00am
