Lambton versus Elgin Chiefs  5 – 1 Loss

Elgin started the scoring at 7:28 in the first period. To find the equalizer Mitchell Bigras back handed a big 3 on 1 break on the Elgin tender. Elgin went up by one more at 4:36 to out work a sprawled out Justin Fazio. Elgin then found the net one more time in the first to conclude the period 3-1. In the second period the Sting gave another goal as an ex-Lambton player rushed end to end during a PP passing to the trailing defender to move the game to 4-4 Elgin. Lambton showed signs in the third of rebounding with some great 4-4 hockey with both teams racking up penalty minutes. The final goal of the game came when the Lambton goaltender was leveled from behind and the puck dribbled over the crease. Final 5-1 Elgin.

Lambton versus Sun County  3 – 3 Tie

Sun County started the game with all guns flying starting the scoring 1-0 at 6:14 of the first period. In the second period Mayo received a sweet pass from defenseman Ryan Woods to get Lambton on the board. The Panthers then caught another burst of power and worked a goal to bring the score to 2-1. McGuire then broke through on a face off hammering in an unassisted goal (top shelf). Late in the second period the Stings Conner Black swung wide with a three on one break with Bryn Williams and Mayo attacking strong. Williams connected through the five hole to bring the Sting up 3-1. Fazio stood on his head with the shot clock at 22-7. Sun County’s big pointman Elkbald was shut down numerous times by the Sting defence. The third had some great offensive back checking and solid defence but found a couple of checking from behind costing them another goal to conclude with a 3-3 draw. Sting play Cambridge next week
