Lambton Jr Sting Major
Peewees begin 2008 Posting a
Few Wins!
2008 has started off busy
for the Lambton Jr Sting
Major Peewees. They recently
had 3 games in 4 days vs
Alliance East Division teams
and came away with victories
in all 3.
Thursday night’s match was a
make up game from the snow
storm in December against
the Cambridge Hawks. Both
teams seemed to be a bit
sluggish in the first
period, but Lambton seemed
to get going by late in the
2nd when Brayden
Hopkins scored the first
goal of the game, with
assists going to Mathew
Brandon and Nicholas
Sproviero. In the third,
Lambton continued their
scoring ways with two more
goals, one by Corey Pawley
and another by Hopkins.
Assists went to Liam Wright,
and another for Sproviero.
Final score 3-0. Oliver
Stephens recorded the
shut-out.
Saturday afternoon’s game
was against the Kitchener Jr
Rangers. This game saw the
Jr Sting come away with a
4-1 win. Scorers for Lambton
were Pawley with 2,
Sproviero and Mitch
DeRush-Pageau. Assisting on
the goals were Hopkins with
3, Brandon, Ryan Trottier
and Chad Beauchamp.
To round out this winning
set of games, Sunday saw
Lambton go up against the
Huron-Perth Lakers posting a
score of 5-1. Goal scorers
were Hopkins with 2, Pawley
with 2 and Brandon with 1.
Assists are credited to
Beauchamp (2), Sproviero
(2), Jacob Theoret (2) and
Connor McKinnon. Joel
Sowinski was in net for the
win.
Next up, the Major Peewees
will be participating in the
Port Huron International
Silver Stick January
10-13th.
