Petrolia starts another streak?

The winning streak was short lived and remain at 1 as the Squires took a loss against Brantford on Sunday at home at the Greenwood Recreation Centre.

 

Brantford scored 2 unanswered goals in the first period with one being on a powerplay.  Second period saw Petrolia's Scott Hull scoring first the home team assisted by Danny Larocque and Joel Shaw.  Brandford came back late in the period and added a 3rd goal to take the lead by 3 - 1 at the end of 2.

 

In the third Brantford added 2 more goals with Petrolia scoring a single by Jason Hawes shorthanded.  Ryan Leasa and Jason Polera assisted on the shorthanded goal.  The game ended with a final score of Brantford 5 - Petrolia 2.

Petrolia outshot Brantford 39 - 34.  Brantford went 1 for 6 on the powerplay and Petrolia gave up 8 powerplay opportunities going 0 for 8.

 

The Squires are back in action next weekend for a home/home series against Windsor.  The first game is on Friday Dec 7 when they host Windsor at 8:00 pm and then the Squires return to Windsor on Sunday for a 3:00 pm game.
