Can't shake the slump

The losing streak continues for the Squires as they took
another loss against the Windsor Saints at the Greenwood
Recreation Centre on Friday night.
The Squires opened the scoring just :42 seconds into the
game when Jason Hawes fired one in to take the early
lead. Assisting on the goal were Jason Polera and
Jeremiah Goodacre. Less that a minute later the
Saints took the lead away and evened the score.
Then a few minutes later took the lead with their second
goal and never looked back. The first period ended
with the Saints leading 2 - 1.
In the second period the score remained the same heading
into the third period. Windsor scored
first at 4:31 in the third period and Craig Laframboise
narrowed the gap at 4:43 with Chris McPhail assisting.
Penalty cost the Squires as the Saints 4th goal came on
the power play to take the 4 - 2 lead and in the final
minute they scored into the empty net to leave town with
a final score of 5 - 2.
The
Squires have now lost 7 games straight and are now 2
- 9 - 1 for the season and are sitting in last
place. Despite the losses the games have been
close. Petrolia is at home for their second game of
the weekend on
Sunday at 7:30 against Brantford. Come out and
support the team!
