This special game took place at the new arena in Forest - The Shores Recreation Centre.  It was here that the Petrolia Jets played their final home game for the 207-2008 regular season.  It was a great turnout with over a thousand in attendance and the numbers got a boost as it was minor hockey night - plenty of young ones in attendance.  When the announcer asked the captains for each team to take the ceremonial first puck drop, doing the honours for the Blast was Forest native Owen Rogers.

In goal for Petrolia was Michael Zador and between the pipes for the Blast win was Matt Berglund.

1st Period:  The first penalty of the game was a cross checking minor at 1:49 to Kyle Gallinger of the Blast.  One minute after the penalty expired, Sarnia got on the scoreboard with a marker off the stick of Chris McGuffin with assists to Scott Stafford and Owen Rogers.  Making it a 2-0 game at the eight minute mark was Darby McKinnon a call-up from the midget system.  Assists were picked up by Adam Steadman and Clark MacPherson.  Then at 13:41 MacPherson went off for a slashing minor and during this time the Jets had some good scoring chances including a high moving puck that was batted toward the net by a Jets player but Berglund came up with a big save.  Shots on goal: Petrolia - 15   Sarnia -13. The Jets were 0 for 2 with the man advantage and Sarnia was 0 for 1 on the power play this period.

2nd Period:  Sarnia made it 3-0 at the 5:23 mark on an goal by Chris McGuffin with help from Jon Conrad.  They added another at 7:44 that came off the stick of Matt Abercrombie who was fed a beauty of a pass by Tyler Lewis.  The second assist was picked up by Josh Cornelissen.  Sarnia's 5th goal of the game came at 16:45 and it was scored by Derek VanVeller and picking up assists were Scott Stafford and Matt Abercrombie.  Hooking was the call at 17:58 and off to serve two minutes was Josh Cornelissen of the Blast.  It would prove to be a costly penalty as Petrolia got on the board with a power play goal 41 seconds later with a marker off the stick of Greg Zavitz from Thor Skalski and Donny Bowling.  Shots on goal:  Petrolia - 13/28   Sarnia - 9/22. Petrolia was 1 for 2 with the man advantage and Sarnia was 0 for 1 on the power play this period.

3rd Period:  The Jets struck with the first goal of this period, coming at the 5:03 mark and was scored by Brent Belenger from Derek Brickan and Chris Wilson.  Sarnia replied with one of their own and it would prove to the their final goal of the game.  Scoring the 6th Blast goal was Darby McKinnon with assists to Adam Steadman and Alex Avery.  Petrolia finished out the scoring with a marker at 8:43 and lighting the lamp for the Jets was Scott Gawn from Chris Wilson and Derek Brickan.   Shots on goal:  Petrolia - 9/37   Sarnia - 13/35.  Petrolia was 0 for 1 with the man advantage this period and were 1 for 5 in the game.  Sarnia was also 0 for 1 on the power play this period and were 0 for 3 in the game.
