A few pre-game activities started the night beginning with recognition of the Sarnia Jr. Sting Major Peewee A team who have had a very successful year. It was announced they had entered six tournaments, winning five of them and were a finalist in the sixth. Then goaltender John Faulkner was honoured. At the league banquet he was named as goaltender for the first team. Presenting him with his trophy was goalie coach Daryl Lennan. The Blast's announcer, Glenn MacKinnon then asked for a moment of silence to honour the memory of Windsor Spitfire captain Mickey Renaud who passed away on Monday the 18th. Then it was time for the national anthem and game on. |
In goal for Strathroy was Ben Thomas and between the
pipes
for
the
Blast
was
John
Faulkner.
