With a crowd of over 460 this evening, Blast fans left the arena in a happy mood. The winning goaltender was John Faulkner who picked up his 11th win of the season.  Suffering his 10th loss in net for Chatham was Mike Ostropolec.

1st Period:   The game began with two players sent to the penalty box for 10 minute misconducts so Chatham was without the services of Dave Morden and Sarnia didn't have Justin Young.  Sarnia took two penalties and killed them off successfully followed by three taken by the Maroons.  The final two were taken 52 seconds apart as Brett Hope was off for tripping and Jake McKillop served a bench minor for too many men. Chatham survived being short by two but gave up a power play with five seconds remaining on the bench minor.  Scoring the only goal of this period was Sarnia's Tyler Cicchini with assists to Derrek Coccimiglio and Kyle Gallinger.  Shots on goal:  Chatham - 9   Sarnia - 14.  Chatham was 0 for 2 with the man advantage and Sarnia was 1 for 3 on the power play.

2nd Period:  The teams traded goals and the Blast again went to the dressing room leading by one.  With Kyle Gallinger in the sin bin for tripping just 33 seconds in, Chatham notched the game at one each with a power play goal four seconds later. Scoring the goal was Dave Morden from Jesse Carter.  Sarnia regained the lead at the 3:12 mark with a goal off the stick of Alex Yardy.  Picking up assists were Derrek Coccimiglio and Adam Steadman.  Shots on goal:  Chatham - 14/23 Sarnia - 9/23.  Chatham was 1 for 2 with the man advantage and Sarnia was 0 for 2 on the power play this period.

3rd Period:  The teams seemed to play with a very defensive mind, realizing that the next goal was going to be a big one and with came with 1:50 remaining. Scoring his second of the game was Tyler Cicchini and helpers went to Wayd Pitfield and Toby Brune.  With 1:18 remaining, Chatham pulled their goalie and just over 18 seconds later when there was stoppage in play, they took a time out. The Maroons pressed for the equalized but with just over 39 seconds remaining, Sarnia's Justin Young took possession of the puck and fed it to Derrek Coccimiglio who made no mistake in lighting the lamp for an empty net goal.  The Blast finished the game on the power play as Kyle Carneiro of Chatham took a cross checking minor with 19 seconds remaining.  It was the only penalty taken this period and the Blast didn't capitalize on it.  Shots on goal:  Chatham - 8/31   Sarnia - 11/34.  Chatham was 1 for 4 with the man advantage this game and Sarnia was 1 for 6.
