Blast Unable to Hold Leads In Tomato Town

In goal for Leamington was Mike Morissette and between the pipes for the Blast was John Faulkner.

 
1st Period:  The teams traded power play goals during this 20 minutes of play with the Blast opening the scoring at the 10:15 mark on a Tyler Cicchini marker. Assists went to Tyler Lewis and Matt Abercrombie.  The Flyers responded with a goal of their own as Peters was off serving a tripping minor.  Notching the game at one each with 2:25 remaining was Ryan Speers from Ted Festeryga.  Shots on goal:  Leamington - 11   Sarnia - 11.  The Flyers were 1 for 2 with the man advantage and Sarnia was 1 for 1 on the power play this period.

 
2nd Period:  Once again the teams each scored once and went to their dressing rooms tied.  Sarnia regained the lead with their second power play goal at 6:45 off the stick of Tyler Peters and picking up the lone assist was Matt Abercrombie. Leamington got that one back at 13:59 with a marker by Kyle Kudroch from Josh Carnevale and Jeff Hogan.  Shots on goal:  Leamington - 14/25   Sarnia - 13/24. Leamington was 0 for 1 with the man advantage and Sarnia was 1 for 2 on the power play this period.

 
3rd Period:  The Flyers took the lead with a marker just 63 seconds into this period and it would be the only goal scored.  It came off the stick of Kyle Kudroch with an assist picked up by Kerey Merrmann.  The Blast did pull Faulkner for an extra attacker during the final minute of the game, but were unable to send the game into overtime.  Shots on goal:  Leamington - 8/33   Sarnia - 12/36.  Leamington was 0 for 1 with the man advantage this period and were 1 for 4 in the game.  Sarnia was 0 for 2 on the power play this period and were 2 for 5 in the game.

 
The Blast played 9 games this month and went 5 - 4 - 1 for 11 points.  In the first week of December, Sarnia plays host for two games.  On Thursday the 6th the Tecumseh Chiefs pay us a visit and on Saturday the 8th, the London Nationals come to town.  Both games are 7:30 starts.
