1st Period: Sarnia opened the scoring at the 2:16 mark on a Tyler Lewis goal from Kyle Gallinger and Owen Rogers. Sarnia got into penalty trouble and found themselves playing two men short three times this period. Matt Abercrombie went off at 8:06 for high sticking and was joined 48 seconds later by team mate Owen Rogers who took a tripping minor. The Jets got their first goal, a five-on-three power play goal at 9:34 off the stick of Sanza from Skalski and Beck. Before play resumed, Brent Andriash was called for roughing after the whistle and again the Jets enjoyed another five on three for 80 seconds. While attempting to clear the puck out of his end, Sarnia tender John Faulkner put the puck into the netting and was called for delay of game. Serving his minor was Tyler Lewis and the Jets enjoyed their 3rd two man advantage once Rogers' penalty expired. During the last of these penalty kills, Scott Stafford took a pass from Owen Rogers and put the shot on net but it was stopped with a glove save. |

2nd Period: Petrolia continued to carry the play this period as each of the teams took three minors each. Sarnia's Derek VanVeller was in the sin bin serving a cross checking minor when the Jets increased their lead to two on a Clark marker at 10:47 from Beck and Justin Smith. Sarnia got one back at 16:59 on Tyler Lewis' second of the evening. Picking up assists were Kyle Gallinger and Toby Brune. Once again, the Jets scored with under two minutes to go in the period and took a two goal lead into the dressing room. Scoring the goal was Skalski with assists to Tisza and Iaquinto. With about two seconds left in the period Sarnia's Toby Brune was called for cross checking so the Jets began the period with the man advantage. Shots on goal: Petrolia - 7/21 Sarnia - 17/24. Petrolia was 1 for 3 on the power play and Sarnia was 0 for 3 with the man advantage this period. |
 |
3rd Period: Sarnia staged an exciting comeback for all the Blast fans who attended the game, scoring three unanswered goals. Although the Jets began the period on the power play, it was short-lived as Justin Smith was called for interference 29 seconds into the period. With the teams skating four a side, Sarnia staged their comeback with a goal 14 seconds later on a Tyler Lewis goal -- hat trick! Assists went to Matt Abercrombie and Matt Pereira. The Blast found themselves on the power play with a two man advantage for just over 30 seconds when Greg Zavitz was called for interference and made good on it with a Matt Abercrombie goal at the 2:27 mark. Assists went to Derrek Coccimiglio and Kyle Gallinger. |
