Goes to the Blast

Before another home crowd of
over 400, the Blast picked up
another two points to go to 2-1
on the season. The starter for
the Jets was Joseph Rogers and
picking up the win for the Blast
was John Faulkner.

1st Period:
Sarnia opened the
scoring at 4:58 on a
Tyler Lewis marker
from Marco Ruggeri
and Tyler Cicchini.
Petrolia tied the
game on a power play
marker 10 seconds
into their power
play after Adam
Steadman went off
for hooking at the
7:11 mark. Scoring
the goal for the
Jets was Chase Clark
with assists to Ryan
Richardson-Guest and
Stephen Sanza.
Sarnia regained the
lead on a Matt
Abercrombie goal at
the 10:48 mark and
picking up helpers
were Toby Brune and
Chris McGuffin.
Just under four
minutes later Owen
Rogers scored to
give his team a two
goal lead to take
into the dressing
room after 20
minutes of play.
Assisting on the
goal were Derrek
Coccimiglio and Jon
Conrad. Shots on
goal: Petrolia -
12 Sarnia - 12.
Petrolia was 1 for 2
with the man
advantage this
period and Sarnia
was 0 for 1 on the

2nd Period:
Sarnia monopolized
the play this period
and it showed on the
scoreboard,
outscoring the Jets
6 goals to 2 in this
20 minutes of play.
It began with a
Sarnia goal at 1:39
off the stick of
Derrek Coccimiglio
with assists to Owen
Rogers and Matt
Pereira. At this
point, Petrolia made
a goaltender change
to Blair Bennett.
Goal number five was
a power play marker
at 5:13 that was
scored by Marco
Ruggeri as Kevin
Burke was off
serving a minor for
tripping. Picking
up assists were Alex
Yardy and Josh
Cornelissen. Sarnia
went on the power
play again at 7:02
when Justin Smith
was called for
interference. It
took 29 seconds for
Matt Abercrombie to
light the lamp and
help came from Matt
Pereira.

The Jets also got a power play
goal, their second of the game
at 9:48 just 7 seconds after
Sarnia's Owen Rogers was called
for hooking.
Scoring the Jets goal was Justin
Smith from Tony Beck and Stephen
SanzaSarnia
reeled off two more quick
goals. Number seven came at
15:35 and was power play goal
number three for the Blast.
Tipping it in was Tyler Lewis
with assists to Matt Pereira and
Matt Abercrombie. Just 45
seconds later, Scott Stafford
found himself in possession of
the puck and he let go a shot
that beat Bennett, unassisted.
Petrolia closed out the scoring
this period and with 18 seconds
remaining, Chase Clark picked up
his second of the evening.
Assists went to Justin Smith and
Stephen Sanza. Shots on goal:

11/23. Petrolia was 1 for 2 on
the power play and Sarnia went 3
for 3 with the man advantage

3rd Period:
The Jets got the
first goal this
period and did
so quickly.
Sixty-one
seconds in,
Joseph Jacobs
notched the
final goal for
his team, with
assists going to
Thor Skalski and
Chris Edwards.
Sarnia replied
with one of
their own and
the final goal
of the game. It
came at the
11:56 mark and
off the stick of
Chris McGuffin.
Assisting on the
goal were Brad
Hurlock and Toby
Brune. Shots on
goal: Petrolia
- 7/31 Sarnia
- 10/33.
Petrolia was 0
for 3 with the
man advantage
this period and
were 2 for 7 in
the game.
Sarnia was 0 for
