Picking up the win and going the
distance for the Rockets was
Roethlingshoefer and taking
the loss for the Blast was
starter John Faulkner.
1st Period: The
Rockets got into this game early
and often, taking only 28
seconds to get on the board.
Scoring was Kyle Moore
from McCombe and
Furlong. They made it 2-0
at the 9:59 mark on a goal by
Furlong and helpers went to
Joey Beauchamp and Joe
Pikul. It was Joey
scoring goal number 3 just two
minutes and 10 seconds later as
the teams played four a side.
Furlong got the fourth
marker for the Rockets at 13:26
as they continued to carry the
play to the Blast, forcing
Sarnia to play most of this
period in their own end. With
Eric Beauchamp off for roughing
at 13:58, the Blast were finally
able to celebrate a goal.
Getting the marker at 15:09 was
Matt Abercrombie with
assists going to Toby Brune
and Tyler Lewis. With
about three minutes to go in the
period, Strathroy found
themselves in a bit of penalty
trouble and the Blast found
themselves with a two man
advantage for 1:28, but were
unable to capitalize. Shots on
goal: Strathroy - 14 Sarnia -
12. The Rockets were 0 for 2
with the man advantage and
Sarnia was 1 for 5 on the power
play this period.
2nd Period:
Strathroy continued to extend
their lead and at 1:43 scored
another goal to go up by four.
Notching the marker was Joe
Pikul from Patrick Easter
and Joey Beauchamp.
Forty seconds later, Kraig
Wright lit the lamp for the
home team with assists to
Easter and Kyle Greenside.
Before play resumed, Sarnia made
a goaltender change to Matt
Berglund. It only took 67
seconds before Strathroy got one
behind Berglund to make it a 7-1
score on a Johnson goal
from Eric Beauchamp and
Moore. A roughing minor
at 4:17 sent Sarnia's Jon Conrad
to the sin bin and the Rockets
capitalized with a power play
goal at 5:31 off the stick of
Wright from Greenside
and Aris. Sarnia
returned the favour at the 14:04
mark when Gray was called for
holding one minute earlier.
Scoring the second and final
Blast goal, his second of the
game, was Matt Abercrombie.
Assists were picked up by
Toby Brune and Josh
Cornelissen. The Rockets
picked up their final two goals
of the game during the final two
and a half minutes. Goal number
nine was a short-handed marker
off the stick of Furlong
with help from Moore and
Secco. A power play goal
at 19:13 was scored by Eric
Beauchamp from Wright
and Pikul. Shots on

Sarnia - 11/23. Strathroy was 2
for 3 with the man advantage and
Sarnia was 1 for 2 on the power

3rd Period: No
scoring took place this period
and 11 penalties were handed
out, five to Strathroy and six
