1st Period:  The lone goal of this period was a Chris McGuffin marker at the 2:04 mark with assists going to Matt Abercrombie and Alex Yardy.  Sarnia took but one penalty this period, a tripping minor at 8:41 to Kyle Gallinger, before Chatham took the next four.  With less than five minutes to go in the period the Maroons took two penalties within 50 seconds of each other and although the Blast had 70 seconds of play where they enjoyed a two man advantage, they were unable to capitalize. Shots on goal:  Chatham - 11   Sarnia - 8.  Chatham was 0 for 1 on the power play and Sarnia was 0 for 4 with the man advantage this period.

2nd Period:   Sarnia began a mini trek to the sin bin early in the period and when Kyle Gallinger was off serving a roughing minor, Sarnia dumped the puck into Chatham's end.  Owen Rogers battled in the corner and managed to pass out the puck to Scott Stafford who missed a glorious chance at scoring a short handed marker.  The Maroons got on the board at the 16:04 mark on a Colton Thorton goal from Brett Hope and Jesse Carter.  Sarnia responded with a goal just 39 seconds later off the stick of Alex Yardy, his first of the season.  Picking up an assist was Marco Ruggeri.  Yardy let rip a shot from just inside the blue line on the right side. It was a rising shot that whistled over the right shoulder of Ostropelec and it would prove to be the game winner.  With 2:19 remaining in the period, Marco Ruggeri gave the Blast a two goal lead to take into the dressing room.  Assisting on the goal were Tyler Lewis and Tyler Cicchini.  Sarnia would begin the third period a man short as Jon Conrad took a minor for delay of game at the 18:25 mark. Shots on goal:  Chatham - 9/20   Sarnia - 13/21.  Chatham was 0 for 4 on the power play and Sarnia had no man advantages this period.

3rd Period:  Sarnia killed off the penalty that was carried over from the end of the second period and then took another one 67 seconds into the period.  They weather the storm of playing short and then found themselves with the man advantage when Bobby Knight of Chatham took a cross checking minor at the 7:26 mark.  The Blast scored a goal with 16 seconds remaining on the power play.  Getting the marker was Toby Brune (his 1st of the season) with helpers to Matt Pereira and Tyler Lewis.  A couple of roughing minors were handed out with about five minutes to go and the with under two minutes remaining, a small bout took place that earned Chatham's Brad Biggers a two minute instigator minor, giving the Blast a power play opportunity to end the game.  Shots on goal:  Chatham - 12/32   Sarnia - 13/34. Chatham was 0 for 1 on the power play this period and were 0 for 6 in the game. Sarnia was 1 for 3 with the man advantage this period and were 1 for 7 in the game.
