Sarnia Blast vs St. Thomas Stars
September 6, 2007
In the
final pre-season game the Blast came
from behind and tied the game in the 3rd
period with a final score
of 3 - 3.
In the first period the Stars took the
lead just :25 seconds into the game on a
goal by Chad Barclay assisted by Chris
Rocca and Brandon Happeney. Rocca scored
a second goal for St Thomas to take the
2 - 0 lead at the end of one period.
Assisting on Rocca's goal was Alex
Regan.
In the
second period it was another quick goal
just :43 seconds into the period when
Adam Coates scored assisted by Brandon
Happeney. Action continued with
both sides going end to end without
scoring to end the second with St.
Thomas now leading 3 - 0.

After the break the Blast
came out battling and it was
at the 9:22 mark that they
scored their first goal of
the game. Marco
Ruggero scored assisted by
Kyle Gallinger. At
14:40 the Blast narrowed the
St. Thomas lead when Brent
Andriash scored from the
blue line through traffic.
Assisting on the goal was
Owen Rogers and Tyler
Cicchini. The momentum
continued and late in the
period at 17:44 Owen Rogers
took a pass from Jon Conrad
and put it in the net to tie
the game. Time ran out
and the game ended in a tied
score. |

John Faulkner was in net for
the Blast for the first 2
periods saving 14 shots,
Mark Pereira closed the game
with a total of 9 saves.
Chris Abbey went the
distance for St Thomas with
a total of 34 saves. |
The Blast
Home/Season Opener is on Thursday
September 13 against St.Thomas at the
Sarnia Arena. Game time 7:30 pm. |
