Sarnia Jr. Sting Minor Atom A/AA
Fought Hard But Came Up Empty-handed

In spite of a
great team effort, the Sarnia Jr. Sting Minor
Atom A/AA team was defeated by the Cambridge
Hawks in their home opener on Sunday, September
23 at Clearwater Arena with a score of 3 – 0.

The Cambridge
Hawks came out fast and hard. They scored 2
goals less than a minute apart two thirds of the
way through the first period. The Sarnia Jr.
Sting held their own in the second period,
keeping the score at 2 – 0. Cambridge scored
less than a minute into the third period, making
the score 3 – 0, which is where it remained
until the end of the game.
The Sarnia Jr.
Sting Minor Atom A/AA’s next 3 games will be
played at home. The first of these will take
place on Saturday, September 29 at 1:00 PM at
Sarnia Arena when the Sting go up against the
St. Thomas Stars. This game will be followed by
a rematch between the Sting and the Burlington
Bulldogs on Sunday, September 30 at 2:30 PM at
Clearwater Red. The last league game at home
before the Sting take to the road for the
Avalanche Thanksgiving Challenge Tournament in
Toronto will be played on Tuesday, October 2 at
7:00 PM at Clearwater Blue against the London
Jr. Knights Gold team. |
