Sarnia Sting
Minor Midget gain four points in
recent play.
The
Sarnia Sting Minor Midget
recorded two wins and a loss in
their last three games. Sarnia
played the visiting St. Thomas
Stars and skated to a 4-1
victory. Scoring for Sarnia was
Elliot Pecora with two, William
Brandon and Denver Spearman.
Picking up assists were Ryan
Dayman, Eric Hicks and Jared
Milberry.
In
the second game of the home and
home, Sarnia outscored the Stars
9-4. Denver Spearman paced the
Sarnia attack with the hat
trick, Jared Milberry had two,
with Jeffery Schroeter, Eric
Hicks, Graeme Wattie, and Derek
D'Andrea picking up singles.
Shroeter and Elliot Pecora each
had three helpers, Kyle Ferguson
had two, with Hicks, D'Andrea,
Spearman, Milberry, Wattie,
Brandon and Ryan Jennings each
adding one. Ben Johnson played
well in both games to earn the
two victories.
Sarnia then squared off against
first place London on Saturday.
London scored first, 18 seconds
into the game. Sarnia would
respond before the end of
the period to even things up on
a blue collar goal by Derek
D'Andrea assisted by Ryan Dayman
and Eric Hicks. Despite
controlling most of the play in
the second period, Sarnia could
not capitalize on numerous
chances and found themselves
trailing 2-1. Sarnia again were
the aggressors in the third but
could not get anything past the
red hot London goalie. London
would add two empty netters to
seal the 4-1 victory. With his
team pressing, Zac Lippiatt made
several key saves to give his
team a chance to come back.
Up
next for the Sting, they are
hopping on a bus to Chicago for
Silver Stick Regional's playing
a minimum of 4 games. GOOD LUCK
STING!!
