Mat Szabo earned his First career shut out against the Oakridge Aero’s Tuesday night in game league action in what could only be described as letter perfect defensive play by the tandem of Owen Gibson, Trevor Forsten, Austin Cooper and Michael Pearce the defensive action of these players held Oakridge to only 10 shots on net. Mat faced only 3 shots through the first two periods with a flurry of 7 shots coming late in the third period. Mat held his ground and stopped every shot. The scoring was open early in the first period by Jakob Washington assisted by Richard McIntosh and Chris Mulholland. The second goal a sweet deek was scored by Colin Osler which was a Power play goal and it was assisted by Jack Chapman. There was no scoring in the second and third periods. The final score was 2-0 for the Jr. Sting .Also special mention to Owen Gibson this was his best game of the year so far, the Oakridge team was bouncing off of him left and right all night.
