The Sarnia Major Atom MD Played West
London in regular game play on Thursday Feb 14th. Although
they lost to West London by a score of 1-2 it was a Moral
Victory for this young team as they out played the first
place team. The shots on net where close. The shots were 13
for the Sting and 15 for West London. West London took a one
goal lead in the first with a fluky goal, but this did not
get the Sting down they came right back with one of there
own. The loan goal of the game was scored by Colin Osler and
was assisted by Jakob Washington and Owen Gibson. The scored
was tied after the first period.
After the second period west London had
the lead and they would not relinquish it. In the third
period West London had a 5 on 3 and they where unable to
even get a shot on net.
All of the lines where clicking as the
teams momentum was outstanding. From the forwards all the
way down the line.
The teams defensive play solid with some
excellent plays by Jakob Washington and Austin Cooper. Noah
Melanson had one of his better games in the first he made a
supper play to stop West London on the breakaway. He gave
his team a chance to stay in the game. The teams first goal
came as a result of a great pad save by Noah. This was a
Team effort it shows that they can play with the top teams
and are ready for the playoff's.
