The
Sarnia Sting Major Atom MD finish the regular season the
way they started it, with a win. With third place on the
line the Jr. Sting came out to play. They took an early
third period lead with a goal from team Captain
Christopher Mulholland and assisting on the goal was
Richard McIntosh and Cole Dodge. The team out shot the
London North Nationals in the first period by a margin
of 12 to 2.
But in the second period the London team
fought back and got two goals to put them selves in the
lead, with a couple of lucky goals one a rebound and the
other just a fluky goal they squeaked past net minder
Mathew Szabo.
The Sarnia team did not let up, they fought
back to tie up the game with a goal from Rory Jones and
assisted by Keith Manery. Then London came right back to
take the lead again, But Storm Astolfi found the back of
the net with help from Chris Mulholland. This was enough
incentive to give Cole Dodge the strength to fight off
the London team and work his way down to the London end
and deek out the net minder to give the Sting the win.
London pulled their goalie, but Sarnia kept
the puck under control and did not allow the Nationals
to catch up. The final score was 4-3 for the Jr. Sting
Mathew Szabo was solid in net to earn the
win for his team.
