The Sarnia Major Atom Jr. Sting team played the SSE Wild on Monday Feb 04th in what was a must win game for the Jr. Sting as they drive toward a play off spot. The Sting came out a bit slow, but they picked up the pace as the game went off. There was no scoring in the first period as the defense on both teams held strong with only 3 shots apiece where recorded in the first period. The SSE struck first in the second period on the power play, but the sting came right back and tied up the game with a goal from Cole Dodge and assisted by Chris Mulholland and Owen Gibson. Then Rory Jones from halfway inside the blue line let one rip and the Sting took the lead Rory's goal was assisted by Keith Manery. With only 5 minutes left in the game and on the power play Cole Dodge picked up Richard McIntosh's rebound and gave the Sting the win. Rory and Richard had outstanding games, as did from the defense Trevor and Owen. Mat Szabo played an excellent game as well; he kept the puck out when it was needed the most.
