LMHA Thunder Classic
Tournament
The Sarnia Major Atoms recently played in the LMHA
Thunder Classic Tournament they played four hard fought
games and only came out with one win. They played
some tough opponets, in ther first game Noah Melanson
stood on his head and only allowed two goals with the
Sting managing one wich was an unassited goal by Colin
Osler.The Sting where outshot 23 to 9.
In the Second game the
Sting faced Brampton and lost by a score of 4-0 Mathew
Szabo made some incredible glove saves. The Sting where
out shot 21 to 7.
In the third game the
Sting played West Hill and after having a good rest won
3-1. With goals from Richard Mcintosh ,Colin Osler and
Jakob Washington . The first goal was assited by Chris
Mulholland and Micheal Pearce, the second by Micheal
Pearce and Keith Manery the third was assited by Trevor
Foresten and Storm Astolfi.
The fourth game was
played against Kitchener and they came out playing hard
taking a first period lead of two to nothing, and then
putting in another in the second, but the Sting got a
late second period goal and this lifted the team. they
outshot the Kitchener in team in the third but where
unable to secure any more goals and lost 3-1. Mathew
made a really nice goal save from his knees which was
earmarked for the top corner.
The Sting now head off
into the playoffs which start Wednesday March 19th in
London against SSE Wild.
