Jr Sting Minor MD-Atoms Lose 4-1 in
Forest City Hockey League Action
The Jr.Sting minor MD Atoms lost 4-1
against the Stratford Warriors in Forest City hockey league
action.
First period action saw some
excellent hockey. Both teams were aggressive and trying to get
the first goal with play going end to end. As the period
progressed the Warriors began forcing the play into the Sting
end but the Sarnia defense kept the Warriors away from their
net. The period ended 0-0.
The second period continued to see
the Warriors gain momentum. Sarnia’s goaltender Eric Lange made
some excellent saves to close the door on the Warriors early in
the period. At the 7 minute mark, the Jr Sting got caught in a
scramble behind their net and Stratford was able to capitalize
to make it 1-0. The Jr Sting continued to battle hard but
couldn’t tie the game. At the 3 minute mark of the period,
Stratford made it 2-0 after a scamble in front of the Jr.Sting
net. With the period coming to a close, Sarnia made a charge and
Brody Jordan made it 2-1 to narrow the Warriors lead with an
assist going to Cameron Orrange.
Being down by a goal the Jr.Sting
began to go on the offensive in the third but the Warriors
defense made it difficult to get any second-shot scoring
opportunities. Five minutes into the period the Warriors were
able to extend their lead to 3-1. The last half of the period
saw the Sting unable to get their rhythm and set up a drive. The
Warriors were able to get one more goal to make it 4-1 to end
the game.
The Jr.Sting’s next game is against
the Oakridge Aero’s on Tuesday December 11th @ 6:00pm at the
