Jr. Sting Minor MD Atoms Fall to the Warriors
The Jr. Sting minor MD Atoms
traveled to Stratford and lost 6-1 against the Warriors in
Forest City hockey league action.
The long drive seemed to have an
affect on the Sting as they got out to a slow start and didn’t
seem to have a rhythm. Eric Lange made a couple of awesome
sprawling saves to shut the door on the Warriors and keep the
game at 0-0. As the period went on, Sarnia seemed to come
together and began getting some good scoring opportunities. The
period ended 0-0.
The second saw the Sting beginning
to play a little more physical and they began to shoot the puck
towards the net to make something happen. The Warriors drew
first blood midway through the period when they caught the Sting
on a line change to make it 1-0. Two minutes later Stratford
extended their lead to 2-0 when the Sting couldn’t clear the
puck and a scramble occurred in front of the net.
The third period was all Warriors
and the Sting just couldn’t get any breaks. The Warriors made it
3-0 when the puck was lost in a scramble in front of the net and
the Warriors jammed it in. The rest of the period was all
Stratford and they were able to extend their lead to 6-0. Sarnia
was able to end their scoring drought when Kasen Sebben dug the
puck out from the boards to Cameron Orrange who passed it out to
a diving Jonathan Boccanfuso to make it 6-1 to end the period
and game.
The Jr. Sting’s next game is against
the Stratford on Tuesday February 5th @ 6:00pm at the Kinsmen
Arena in London.
