Jr.Sting Minor MD Atoms Host Oakridge
Aero’s in Forest City League Action
The Jr. Sting minor MD Atoms hosted
the Oakridge Aero’s and lost 2-0 in Forest City hockey league
action.
The Sting started the game a bit
sluggish with Oakridge forcing play into the Sting zone and the
pressure allowed the Aero’s to take an early 1-0 lead, two and
half minutes into the period. Eric Lange was hot early, keeping
the Jr.Sting in the game by making some excellent saves. Before
the period ended the Aero’s extended their lead to 2-0 with the
Jr.Sting slowly gaining momentum.
The second period saw a more
aggressive Sarnia team and they began getting the puck deep into
the Aero’s end. Lange continued to keep the game close with key
saves and the defense helped by forcing the Aero’s to the
boards. With the Sting beginning to play the Oakridge team
toe-to-toe, the game became more aggressive. The period ended
with the Aero’s still having a 2-0lead.
With the Jr.Sting playing hard and
getting more offensive opportunities, the Aero’s began to get a
bit frustrated and took a few penalities. Even with the extra
man advantage the Sting couldn’t get the puck past a hot
Oakridge goalie. The defense continued to play an important role
to keep the game 2-0. With the game coming to an end the Sting
pulled their goalie but couldn’t get a rhythm going and the game
ended 2-0 for the Aero’s. |
