London Nationals
Tournament
January 4 - 6, 2008
The Sarnia Minor Bantam MD Team took to the road
on the weekend of January 4- 6 to participate in
the annual London Nationals Tournament. Sarnia
came away with a 2-1-1 record, losing to Barrie
in the semi-final game.
In an exciting game
on the first day of play, Sarnia defeated Credit
Valley by 5-2. Scoring for Sarnia were Jamie
Vandenberg, Chris Pamenter & Kurtis Buckeridge
with one goal each and Shawn Master with two
goals. Assists went to Ryan Krasinkiewicz, Ian
Ferguson & Clay Walker. Helping to round out
the excellent team effort were defensemen Joey
Frayne and Harrison McCrie and Evan McDougall,
who played a solid game in net.
On the second day of
action, Sarnia played the Oakville Royals and
won 4-0. Contributing to the excellent score
were Chris Pamenter, Jamie Vandenberg, Spencer
Lindsay & Michael Hummell with one goal each.
Assisting in the effort were, Shawn Master, Joey
Frayne, Clay Walker & Jamie Vandenberg with two
assists and anchoring the defense were Ryan
Krasinkiewicz & Ian Ferguson. Duncan
Gibson-Lockhart played hard in net to achieve a
shut out.
Game three found
Sarnia neck in neck with a 1-1 tie against the
Cambridge Selects. In a very fast-paced game,
scoring action went to Dalton Pickett while
Shawn Master & Harrison McCrie offered the
assist. Defensemen Michael Hummell and Beau
Callum did a great job defending their territory
and Evan McDougall made some great saves in net.
In the semi-final
game Sarnia lost a heartbreaker to Barrie with
a very close score. Scoring for Sarnia was Jamie
Alves and the assist went to Mike Brown and Ian
Ferguson. Playing solidly in net was Duncan
Gibson-Lockhart. The hard-played game went back
and forth before Barrie sealed the win with a
2-1 final score.
