Sarnia Jr.
Sting Minor Midget MD vs LMHA Thunder
October 22, 2007
The Sarnia Minor Midgets MD
played their third game of the young season against the LMHA
Thunder Monday night and skated away with a 6-2 victory. The
Sting have now gone undefeated, winning three straight games
to begin their quest for a championship.
The first period saw the Thunder come out physical, laying
on the body checks, but the Sting held firm. Kody Ryan
scored a beautiful goal, en route to a hat trick, to put the
Sting up 1-0. The Thunder would even things at 1-1, but the
Sting turned on their jets and kept the puck in the London
end for most of the 2nd period, dominating the play. The
speedy Josh Warner and Jordan Williams each scored a
"hi-light reel" goal in the middle frame.
Period number 3 saw the game take a turn towards chippy as
both sides were visiting the sin bin constantly. The
Thunder tried to take advantage of their power plays out
shooting the Sting 12 to 10 for the period, but only managed
to get one by Sarnia's goaltender Ben Johnson. Johnson made
some big saves when called upon, and in the end, the
Thunder's effort was too little too late as the Sting
powered their way to another victory.
Sarnia's goal scorers were Kody Ryan (with the hat trick)
Chris Losier,Josh Warner, and Jordan Williams.Picking up
assists were Josh Warner (2), Mike Nelson (2), Chris Losier
(2), Corey Millar, Jordan Williams, and Scott MacEachern.
