On Saturday, November 17,
2007 the London Nationals visited Germain
Arena to play the Sarnia Jr. Sting. Both
teams came out flying and early in the first
period, goalie Patrick Kelly made a great
glove save on a flying National player.
London scored two quick goals to go ahead
2-0 at the end of one
period.
The Sting came out flying
in the second period however London managed
to score a goal to go ahead 3-0. Some
excellent goaltending by Patick Kelly seem
to spark the play of the home team. Max
Steeves made a great rush from the red line
and scored the first goal on a wrist shot,
with an assist going to Dylan Schroeter.
The Sting continued
hustling and the hard work paid off with
Cameron Rannie scored on a odd angle shot
from the side of the net with an assist
going to Max Steeves. London was clinging to
a 3-2 lead.
The line of Max Steeves,
Cameron Rannie and Dylan Schroeter were all
over the Nationals for a whole shift,
however, came close but could not tie the
game. The Sting played hard and carried most
of the play in the second period.
The early part of the
third period saw both teams trade excellent
scoring opportunities as Patrick Kelly came
up with two big saves including another
great glove save. The Sting carried the
play, however, could not bury their numerous
chances. London got another crazy bounce in
front of the net,
after an initial save by
Kelly, London scored to make it 4-2.
The Sting continued their
hustle and great team work which resulted in
many other scoring chances, but the puck was
not on their side this game. London scored a
last minute powerplay to score to win the
game 5-2.
Great team effort boys
and continue the hard work.............GO
