Barn Burner Part II:  Sarnia Pull Off Another Come From Behind Tie!

For the second straight game Sarnia were involved in an action packed, old fashioned barn burner, which saw them come back, being down 7-3 at one point, to tie it 8-8 with the Oakridge team in London.

The first period started as many of our games do…2 early goals from the Oakridge team.  Sarnia had a lot of chances but were victims of a lot of blocked shots and were unable to find the twine.  The period ended 2-0.

The second period was a scoring frenzy, 5 by Oakridge, but more importantly 3 by the good guys.  The first goal came from some super forechecking by the Hart, Brown and Adam line which created a goal from Cameron Adam on his knees.  The second, again came the Adam, Brown, Hart line as Adam was able to slip it under the goalie.  The third goal came from some great puck movement from the line of Fuoco, Cossa, Discanno and defensive pair of Marks and Williams, which ended with a goal by Marcus Cossa.  At the end of the second it was 7-3.

The third period was all Sarnia, who pulled up their boot straps and got back into this game by scoring 5 unanswered goals.  The first came from Ryan Brown who made great play and tucked it under a sprawling goalie.  Next goal came from a Cam combo…Cameron Adam made great pass to Cameron Rannie who skated in made a great high wrist shot that found the top of the net.  This was followed up by a shorthanded goal by Ryan Brown who scored despite being tripped up.   The line of  Steeves, Rannie, Schroeter, Allardyce and Groulx got into the action next with some strong pressure, which was finally finished off by Max Steeves to make it 7-7.  The comeback was complete as the line of  Nienhuis, Schoch, Brown, and Hart were  able to set up Cameron Adam for his hat-trick and the go ahead goal.  Unfortunately, with 38.9 seconds remaining Oakridge were able to tie it back up and the game ended 8-8.

Super effort boys!  You show some real character with this tie and a never give up attitude!  Keep it up!
