Novice MD Tier 2 win "B" Championship
 
The Sarnia Jr. Sting Novice MD Tier 2 travelled by bus to Blyth Saturday to complete the 'B" Championship game in the Blyth tournament that had been rescheduled from February 10th due to weather.
 
The Sting would be facing Mild May in the contest.  Arriving in Blyth a hour and a half before game time, the boys had alot of energy to burn off and the fans were hoping that this enthusiasm would continue out on the ice.  The team would show their loyal following that they were there to play.
 
Lucas Knowles would get the Sting on the board with a goal at 8:00 minutes in the first period.  Assisting on the play was Carson Payne and Matt Hunt.  Dawson Young would increase the lead to 2-0 with a goal at 9:45.  Collecting the assists were Nolan DeGurse and Brett Brydges.  Curtis Marks would find the back of the net just 20 seconds into the second period.  Assists to Ben Rutledge and Joel Pavey.  Lucas Knowles would collect his second goal of the game at 4:40 with Carson Payne assisting on the play. Mild May would get on the board with a goal at 8:37.  Rounding out the scoring in the second was Carson Payne, assisted by Brent Tunstill.  The Sting would continue to "light the lamp" in the third period.  Dawson Young scored at 2:20, assisted by Ben Rutledge, followed by Carson Payne at 3:25 from Matt Hunt.  Lucas Knowles would complete the "hat trick" at 8:17, assisted by Matt Hunt.  Finishing out the scoring for the Sting was Camden Pomerleau with HIS FIRST GOAL of the season at 8:35 unassisted.
 
Jacob Knowles had the win in net and Sarnia would take the championship with the final score 8-1.  Congratulations on your win boys and let's carry this momentum into the first round of playoffs.
 
Next action for the team is Tuesday, March 18th, 6:00 pm at Sarnia Arena when they open their first round of  league playoffs against the London Devilettes.  Second game of the series is Thursday, March 20th, 6:30 pm at Argyle Arena in London.
