Great team effort
in Novice MD Tier 2 game
The Sarnia Jr.
Sting Novice Tier 2 team had a match up with
the Woodstock Jr. Navy Vets Sunday afternoon
at Germain Arena. The boys played well and
it was a great team effort.
Jakob Knowles
had the start and played strong for his
teammates in front of him. He faced a total
of 22 shots and made several key saves
- including a "highlight save" - where he
stacked the waffles.
The Vets were on
the scoreboard first with a goal just 32
seconds into the game. Dawson Young would
tie the game at 1 with a goal at 8:04.
Collecting the assist was Brett Brydges.
End to end action would continue in the
second period, but Knowles and the Vets
goaltender would keep the puck out.
Brett Brydges
would put his team up 2-1 with a goal early
in the third. Assisting on the play was
Justin Houle and Joel Pavey.
The Vets would
reply at 12:21 to tie the game at 2. There
were scoring chances for both teams, but
once again, the goaltenders stood tall.
Final score 2-2.
Great effort put
forth boys!!!! Next action for the team is
Sunday, March 2nd, when they host West
London Hawks, 4:00 pm at Germain Arena.
