Novice MD
Tier 2 WIN on the road in Woodstock
On a brisk
Sunday afternoon, the Sarnia Jr. Sting
Novice MD Tier 2 made a road trip to
Woodstock to play the Jr. Navy Vets and
came away with their third league win of
the season.
Right from
the start of the game, the Sting wanted
to prove to their faithful fans that the
effort displayed in last Wednesday
night's was behind them and they were
ready to go for this game.
Jakob
Knowles was between the pipes and stood
tall for his team. He was called upon
late in the first period in making a
"highlight glove save" for the game to
remain scoreless. Joel Pavey put the
Sting up 1-0 on an unassisted effort
midway through the second period. A
goal off the stick of Curtis Marks put
the Sting up 2-0. Assisting on the play
was Burke Roszell and Joel Pavey.
Woodstock would score with 2:37 left in
the third period on the powerplay to
make the game close. The Vets would
pull their goalie with less than a
minute remaining in the game, but Matt
Hunt was able to put the game away for
the Sting with an open net goal with
0.01 seconds left on the clock.
Great effort
in the game and continue to work
hard!!!!! The Sting are in action this
weekend with two home games when they
face the top 2 teams in the league.
Saturday they host the Oakridge Aeros at
3:00 pm, Clearwater Arena and then they
play the league leading Devilettes,
Sunday 4:00 pm at Germain.
