Novice MD Tier 2
had a close one

The Sarnia Jr.
Sting Novice MD Tier 2 team travelled to
Argyle Arena Thursday evening to take on the
league leading London Devilettes.
The team played
well but couldn't beat the all girls team.
Jakob Knowles had the start, playing well
facing a total of 17 shots off the "sticks
of the chicks." The Devilettes were able to
open the scoring early in the 1st period,
and would put another one past Knowles
before the end of the period to take the 2-0
lead..
The Sting seemed
to come alive with a goal off the stick of
Lucas Knowles at 5:16 of the 2nd period.
Assisting on the play was Carson Payne and
Ben Rutledge. Momentum would shift in the
boys favour as they would out shoot their
opponents in the third, but could not beat
the goalie. Knowles was pulled with less
then a minute in the game, but the score at
the final buzzer would be 2-1 for London.
The boys hit the
ice again on Sunday, January 6th, 4:00 pm at
Germain Arena when they host the Woodstock
Jr. Navy Vets.
