Novice MD Tier 2 shut out by Devilettes
November 25, 2007
The Novice MD
Tier 2 team played host to the league
leading London Devilettes, Sunday afternoon
at Germain Arena. The previous contest
between these two teams was close and the
boys gave it their all versus the "all girls
team."
The Devilettes
would get on the scoreboard early in the
first period, scoring just over 90 seconds
into the game. With a Sting player been
assessed a 5 minute penalty for checking
from behind at 7:03, the boys were able to
kill off the "major penalty" and actually
did not allow the Devilettes a shot on net.
Great work!!
The Devilettes
would increase their lead in the 2nd by
scoring two more goals. Jakob Knowles (who
was between the pipes) made a great glove
save to stop a London breakaway and gave the
home fans something to cheer about. Shots on
net were definitely in the Devilettes favour
all game. Facing six shots in the third
period, Jakob stood tall and held the girls
off the game sheet. Final score
3-0 Devilettes.
Next action for
the team is Wednesday, November 28th, 6:00
pm at Kinsmen Arena against West London
Hawks.
