Sarnia Jr. Sting Novice MD Tier 2 take on SSE Wild

SSE Wild made a Sunday afternoon trek down the 402 to take on the Sting.  The Sting were hoping to get one back in the win column after suffering the loss on Thursday night.  Jakob Knowles had the start between the pipes and was called upon early in the period to make key saves.  Although the Sting had some quality shots in the first period, the Wild's goalie "shut the door" as the score at the end of the 1st period was 3-0 in favour of the visitors.

Once again the determination of these young players was evident as they out shot their opponent in the second by a margin of 9-4 but were unsuccessful in "lighting the lamp" and found themselves down by a score of 4-0 by the end of the 2nd period.

It is becoming apparent that the black and gold are a "third period team" and are determined to work hard until the final buzzer sounds.  A nice rush from defenseman Ryan Gould sparked the Sting and spoiled the Wild's goaltender bid on a shut out.  As time was running out for the Sting, they continued to work hard and were rewarded for their efforts.  Scoring was Brett Brydges as Nolan DeGurse collected the assist.  Less than 23 seconds later, the Sting would find the back of the net again with a goal off the stick of Lucas Knowles.  Assisting on the play was Nolan DeGurse. The Wild would score twice more and would go on to win the game 6-3.

Continue to work hard boys and let's get them next time!!!!.  Next game action for the team is Tuesday, October 30th, 6:00 pm when they travel to take on the North London Nationals at Carling Arena.
