Sarnia Peewee MD vs West London Hawks Clearwater Arena
The Sarnia Jr. Sting Peewee MD team and the West London Hawks met for the third time this season with each team posting a 3-2 win in their previous matches. Greg Loucks was the net minder and made a great save early in the game. Brendan Hewton had a nice rush and set up Justin Lindsay in front of the Hawks net but the goaltender made a nice save to deny the Sting a goal. Both teams played well and the period was scoreless.
The Sting found themselves on the power play to begin the second period. Matt Hodgins took a shot and Hewton almost shoveled in the rebound. It was a period shared with good chances by both teams but no one was able to break the scoreless tie.
In the third period, the Sting found themselves down 2 men and just as the first penalty expired, the Hawks found the back of the net for a 1-0 lead. With 1:52 left in the period, a Hawk player was able to steal the puck and rushed on a breakaway and scored.
