The Sarnia Jr. Sting Peewee MD
team resumed league play with impressive shut-outs by both
goaltenders to remain on top of the division standings.
January 10, 2008 vs. North London
Clearwater Arena
In a game at Clearwater Arena on
Thursday, Greg Loucks held the North London Nationals off
the board while Brendan Hewton, Koen Gendron, Chase Henne
and Colin Lange scored for a 4-0 victory.
January 14, 2008 vs. West London
Kinsmen Arena
Game two was held on Monday at
the Kinsmen Arena in London against the second place West
London Hawks. Chris Winch stopped every shot he faced and
the Sting scored 3 times for a 3-0 win.
The first period was scoreless
as both teams worked hard. At the 8 minute mark of the
second period, Justin Lindsay took a shot towards the net
and Garrett Deley tipped in the shot for a 1-0 lead. With a
Sting player in the penalty box, Brendan Hewton broke away
with the puck and deked both the defenseman and goalie to
score. 2-0 Sting.
In the third period, the Hawks
were given ample opportunity to score on the power play but
Chris Winch made several key saves to keep the Hawks off the
board. Brendan Hewton was able to thread a pass to Chase
Henne. Henne pocketed the puck for a 3-0 win. The Sarnia Jr.
Sting Peewee MD team have now recorded the best goals
against average in the league.
The Sarnia Peewee’s play their
next game on Thursday, January 17th against division rivals,
Oakridge Aeros, at the Clearwater Arena at 7:00 pm. |
